This book is interesting. เป็นการใช้ adj. 
(adj ต้องตามหลัง v.to be) หนังสือเป็นสิ่งของต้องใช้ -ing น่า...  เพราะสิ่งของรู้สึกเองไม่ได้

It is annoying to miss a train.
(dummy it ไม่มีความหมาย เอามาใช้แทนเฉยๆ)

1. The book ______ (disappoint) me.
= The book is disappointing. หนังสือเล่มนี้น่าผิดหวัง

2. I am sorry to _____ (disappoint) your expectation. (คาดหวัง = hope,expect)
= I am sorry to disappoint your expectation.

3. you are _____ (supprise) me.
= you are surprising  (present cont.)

= I am interested to know what happens.

ผิดเพราะ  (coulden't = cloud not = past tense ) 
ข้างหลังเป็น อดีต ข้างหน้าก็ต้องเป็นอดีต จึงไม่ใช่ we are แต่เป็น
we were disappointed to hear that you couldn't come.

6. This book _____ (interest).
= This book is interesting.

7. He _____ (embarrass) by lack of money. {lack of monney ขาดเงิน}
= He is embarrassed by lack of money.

8. It _____ (astonish) to me that he is absent. ( ขาดเรียน ขาดงาน ไม่มา = absent )
= It is astonishing to me that he is absent.
It = ใช้ ed ไม่ได้ ประธานไม่มีชีวิต และ ข้างหน้า to ต้องเป็น adj แน่ ๆ
เพราะ หลัง to เป็น v.inf แล้ว
